Raloxifene And composition of the body and power of the muscle in postmenopausal woman: mixed, double-blind, operated by test placebo

Purpose

To compare the effect raloxifene and плацеба in compositions of the body and power of the muscle.

Draft

Mixed, double-blind, controlled test плацеба, including 198 sound womans old 70 years or more old called on between July 2003 and January 2008 in University Medical Centre, Utrecht, Netherlands.

Methods

The Participants were arbitrarily nominated to get raloxifene 60 mg. or placebo daily for 12 months. The Sizes were take in baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months and change with baseline was calculated.

The Main measures of the result - a composition of the body (the analysis bioelectrical impedance), power of the muscle, and power of the muscle (maximum voluntary isometric knee power of the expansion, powers extensor explosive leg, and handgrip power).

Results

At 12 months, the composition of the body of the womans, берущих raloxifene differed from same most womans, берущих плацебо: free from fat mass increased the facility 0.83 (2.4) kgs in group raloxifene against 0.03 (1.5) kgs in group плацеба (p=0.05), and the general water of the body increased the facility 0.6 (1.8) L in group raloxifene against reduction 0.06 (1.1) L in group плацеба (p=0.02). Conclusion
